“Until the beginning of the twenty-first century, there was almost no intelligent video surveillance in any part of the world for managing multi-story parking lots. With the increase in the processing power of processors, the advancement of cameras, and their decreasing costs, the way was paved for the presence of video surveillance systems in parking lots.

The intelligent multi-story parking management system developed by Sharif University of Technology’s Connect Group provides a wide range of capabilities to the managers of multi-story parking lots, enabling them to easily and intelligently oversee and manage all aspects of their parking facilities.

:Some of the features and capabilities of this system include

  1. Vehicle recognition and classification: The system can identify the type and class of the parked vehicle (e.g., motorcycle, car, heavy vehicle, etc.).
  2. Quick vehicle retrieval: By entering the vehicle’s license plate number at the payment kiosks located on parking levels, you can easily locate your parked vehicle in the shortest possible time.
  3. ۲۴/۷ vehicle surveillance: The system’s cameras monitor your vehicle throughout the day and night, and in case of any incident, you can review the recorded footage.
  4. Parking spot reservation: Through the mobile application provided by this system, you can reserve your preferred parking spot at any time of the day for any desired duration. If another vehicle parks in your reserved spot, the system will alert the parking operators to take action against the offending driver.
  5. Payment: You can make parking payments conveniently by entering your license plate number at the payment kiosks on the parking levels.

“With the increasing population and, consequently, the number of private vehicles in cities and metropolises, parking lots have become one of the most critical urban management issues. Efficiently managing these parking lots and providing better services to drivers cannot be achieved through traditional methods alone; modern and intelligent approaches are necessary. The Smart Parking Management System developed by Sharif University of Technology’s Connect Group is designed and implemented using state-of-the-art technologies to address all parking management needs. This system possesses the following features:

  1. Utilization of ultrasonic sensors for detecting available parking spaces.
  2. Optimization of ultrasonic sensors to enhance vehicle detection accuracy and guide drivers to vacant parking spots using green and red lights at each parking space.
  3. Networking all sensors and display panels within the parking facility.
  4. Display panels providing information about the overall capacity of the parking lot, each floor, and each lane, helping drivers quickly find suitable parking spaces and guiding them to empty spots more efficiently.
  5. Parking management software that allows monitoring the parking status, including overall capacity, floor availability, and individual parking spaces. Additionally, this software enables parking reservation, allowing drivers to reserve their parking spot before entering the parking facility. It also facilitates remote repair and assessment of individual sensors.
